Comparative adhesion of orthonyxis adhesives,Adhérence comparée des colles utilisées dans les orthonyxies

Abstract

Orthonyxies suffer from the variable reliability of the adhesives used, leading to premature detachment. The adhesion of potential adhesives under representative conditions (polyvinyl chloride-keratin bonding) was compared. Among the tested adhesives, the photoactive cyanoacrylate adhesive Afinitica® Light Lock No. 1 HV offers the highest strength (0.3MPa). The measurements show the importance of sufficient light curing time when applying orthonyxis.
