dc.description.abstractOrthonyxies suffer from the variable reliability of the adhesives used, leading to premature detachment. The adhesion of potential adhesives under representative conditions (polyvinyl chloride-keratin bonding) was compared. Among the tested adhesives, the photoactive cyanoacrylate adhesive Afinitica® Light Lock No. 1 HV offers the highest strength (0.3MPa). The measurements show the importance of sufficient light curing time when applying orthonyxis.en_US
