dc.description.abstract | Debriefing clinical events has the potential to improve teamwork processes. Debriefing practices from the simulated environment can be transferred to the hospital, but questions remain about the best processes for clinical debriefing. This workshop will focus on creating a
psychologically safe environment for clinical debriefing and identifying criteria to guide clinical debriefing for both critical events and at the end of a shift.
Objective 1 :
Identify criteria to guide clinical event debriefing programs (who, what, where, when?).
Objective 2 :
Discuss boundary conditions around Clinical Event Debriefing (CED) - (e.g. What events might be too “hot”, how CED differs from in situ, legal/ethical limits).
Objective 3 :
Discuss processes to establish psych safety and several models to structure engaging learning conversations in the clinical environment. | en_US |
